When I first started blogging, I was actively working in online marketing and Internet consulting. I started this specific blog over 15 years ago. In the ensuing years my world has changed and morphed. I no longer live 4-flights up in a Boston condo. I am now at ground-level in North Carolina where I am awakened to birds chirping and the changes of the seasons are evident in the trees and environment. I missed being close to nature when I lived in the city. I love being outside most of the year.
My interests have changed a lot. Here is the macro view:
- I have retired from working for hire. Note the phraseology, for I still seen to be working, but on new things.
- Rowing/refereeing take up less of my time. Advancing age and decrepit knees make it very difficult.
- I still cook and will be featuring my thoughts here.
- I garden more -- some of the plants I moved from Boston in 2014 are still thriving, but so too are many other plants.
- I yearn to write my memoirs, but I suspect that they will appear as vignettes here in the blog.
As I blog more in the next bit, more will emerge. I suspect that I will enjoy a readership of one (me), but that is just fine. After over 40 years of writing for hire, now I can just write the detritus that I have stored unwritten and unspoken in my mind. So look out, heads up -- ideas are incoming.
