Turtles All the Way Down!

Blogging has been at a low this past week, because it has been so heads down, on deadline and full tilt that all I can say is that the view from here has been "turtles, turtles, and more turtles." Yes! Yes! I know that I am warping the famous anecdote about the flat earth, but it works for me.

There is good news though. All this busy has meant the completion of my new book on blogging. Shhhh! It was supposed to be finished a month ago, but the editing proved more daunting than I had expected. It is done so I urge readers to look out for the formal announcement on the book.

Blogging will pick up. If you don't see it here, I also blog at News Blog for SEO-PR. The content is somewhat different here and there.

Out of the Shadows

For several years now I've been experimenting with blogs, always keeping them tightly under wraps. I've been hiding in plain sight. This past summer, I emerged from my self-imposed shadows and began speaking and consulting on how to use blogs for marketing. My focus initially was on blogs and their potential as traffic referrers for search marketing campaigns. These interests have evolved and increasingly my focus is on integrating blogs into the marketing mix. This is the same dilemma that we originally encountered when the Web first emerged as a marketing entity. Today I see blogs and feeds as the next big wave in information management.

Blogs are changing who is a publisher. Anyone can now share their thoughts with the world. No longer are there financial boundaries making it cost prohibitive for the average individual to publish. Blogs give new meaning to freedom of speech. It is my intent to share my vision of the future of marketing/publishing in this blog since the two will be intertwined. This will include reviews of technology, articles of interest and original thought pieces. So keep your eyes and mind open and join me on this journey.
